Our trip to the US (part one)
Finally I am getting around to posting some pictures from the long US vacation. Here are a few pictures from our trip to Nashville....lots of friends and family and really great times. Sorry I am so long getting this all posted, and I promise.....really promise that I am not going to procrastinate doing this blog anymore. Really, believe me, it's true.....okay, stop laughing and look at my pictures.
Savannah and I had a great time playing on at the Centennial Park playground. And here are the kids on the steps of the Parthenon....and no, we are not in Greece, this is a replica.

Coloring Easter eggs at Tanja's house with Romello. It is so nice to have kids to do these fun things around the holidays!

Of course we had to wake up extremely early on Easter morning to have time to eat loads of chocolate before breakfast!

Before we went to church, we had a little Easter egg hunt.
And on Easter Monday we went to Grandma and Paw Paw's for Easter dinner. Savannah loved sitting in Grandma's lap and getting all the attention!

Did I mention that Tanja and Romello have the friendliest dog in the world? The kids really enjoyed playing with Sam and I think he loved them too.

While in Nashville, we got to visit with Uncle Bill and Aunt Louise. Bill is my father's brother, and Louise is my late grandmother's sister. We had a really nice chat and then out to lunch at a very tasty meat and three. If you don't know what a meat and three is, then you need to go and visit the Southern states of the US to get a real taste of some great downhome cooking. It's the only place where mac and cheese is a vegetable and all the other 'real' veggies are either cooked until all the nutritional value is completely evaporated or battered and fried so that any vitamins you might happen to ingest come complete with lots of fat and calories. Yes, I have definitely missed that kind of cooking, but it is kind of a good thing I'm so far away from it.
Here is a picture of Bill, Louise and me. Can you believe that Louise is 95 years old??? I hope I look that good at that age. (Heck, I hope I MAKE it to that age!)

Next are the three chicklets.....Tanja, Dawn and me. It was so wonderful to be back in my hometown with two of my very best friends. It's funny how we always pick right back up where we left off. I miss you guys now!!

And just a couple of pictures of us having a great time being together as a family. We don't get to have much together time at home since Heinz travels so much, so vacations are extra special for us as a family.

Our last night in Nashville our good friends and family went with us to Red Lobster for a final farewell. I really miss being able to get together on a regular basis with the people I love, and even though I fondly call Germany my home, I'll still always love Nashville for the wonderful friends, family and memories I've made there.

After Red Lobster, we went back to Tanja's and had key lime pie that I'd made earlier in the day. Savannah was so tired, and Paw Paw's lap looked really comfy. I'm so happy that she bonded so well with Paw Paw and Grandma since we don't get to see them as often as we would like.
